It was founded in 1953 as one of the first centres in the country and is part of KGS “Partizan”. The department for foreign languages has been part of the University since 1980. English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Greek , Bulgarian and Macedonian for foreigners are studied in the university. This institution trains people so that they can obtain international certificates. The university also holds computer courses. The Workers’ University offers vocational training in a number of crafts. The hall of the Workers’ University is used as showground “RU”. Since 1998 the Workers’ University has developed rich international collaboration.

ABC opened on 10. 10. 1993. A number of departments exist in the centre – one of which, the foreign language department, offers courses in English, French, German, Italian and Greek , as well as courses in computer study and Internet. The groups are divided according to the age: for children, young people, and adults. There are also courses for choral singing, drama and sports activities. So far, over 10 000 members have completed courses at “ABC”. The Centre cooperates with all the foreign embassies according to the foreign languages that are studied in the Centre, and it also issues internationally recognised diplomas. The Italian regional cultural centre “Giacomo Leopardi” and the Greek regional cultural centre “Aristotel” operate here, as well.
YOUTH CENTRE “BABYLON” – STRUMICA

Babylon is a Project for development of children and youth, implemented by the Agency for youth and sport. It is one of 24 centres opened in the country. The project began in March 2001 . The basic activities of the Centre include: English, computers, creativity and life skills . The activities are carried out by 4 educators and volunteers. The center serves children (ages 7–13) and youth (ages 14–27), numbering approximately 600 a month. There is a special focus on the youth, their programs, and the initiatives of the young people.
